----2009 Highlights----

We are pleased to announce the success of our Second Annual Winter Festival: Celebration for Preservation, a charity event held for Saratoga P.L.A.N. (Preserving Land and Nature) on February 22, 2009 at the Saratoga Spa State Park warming hut, from 11am-4pm.

This family-oriented winter festival featured food, adult and children’s cross 5K and 1K "13 and under" country ski races.  Click here to see the 2009 Race Results!

In addition to the "Nordic Commute" Ski races, we held a snow sculpture contest, craft and wellness fair, live music, nature walks, ice skating, and numerous children’s activities.

The event raised funds for the stewardship and protection of Saratoga P.L.A.N.’s Manning Cove Preserve, a 159-acre nature preserve along the northwest shore of Saratoga Lake. This unique property, provides critical habitat for fish and wildlife, safeguards water quality and floodwater retention on Saratoga Lake, provides scenic views and offers recreational opportunities for boaters and kayakers.

In 2008 the Club hiked Sleeping Beauty, the Tongue Mountain range, Giant, Hurricane, Noonmark and Peaked mountains, just to name a few!

We  kayaked on Lake George and held a kayak/BBQ and Blue Heron watching day at Round Lake.  In addition the club organized and participated in a number of biking outings.

The Club's Annual Fall Trash Clean up of Spa State Park was a huge success this year and after the hike we held a small BBQ and game of touch football.  Read press coverage here.
